I make songs that has absolutely no commercial use but if you are a world renowned singer and will make me thousands of dollars, feel free to contact me and we will split 70-30. If your name is Sia Furler we'll split 60-40.
This is how the creative process works for me (love to use the phrase "creative process" every now and then, makes me sound like I know what Im doing).
I usually start of with a short melody I come up with and try to build a song around it. Then I add a little something here and something there and by the end its most often some monster with trumpets, horns, leads, pads and violins using every single note usable, which in turn leaves no space for singing/rapping/talking which renders it useless for everything but my MP3-player on the subway.
So put it in your Iphone/MP3 and get out there in that public transportation system (If nothing else you're helping the environment)….or you can watch a sad movie with no sound and simultaneously listen to my tunes - Voila! -you have yourself a musicvideo! (If thats too hard, use that eerie Macintosh screensaver (you know which one!), it serves that purpose perfectly as well)

Sounds like..someone took my old iPod, CD's, Tapes, MD's, my old Nintendo and SEGA, and finally my parents LP's and smashed everything together into a CD which changes songs and genres depending on mood i.e I'm mostly experimenting and mixing stuff from everything I listen to, havent come up with a real plan yet :) If I had a genre it would be something like Psychedelic Fairytale Electronica with a heavy influence of Discovery Science Shows, Video Games and Folkmusic. Good day for now.
