Israel Vibration was originally a trio which included three close friends from childhood: Cecil "Skelly" Spence, Lacelle "Wiss" Bulgin and Albert "Apple" Craig (who left the group in 1997). Coming out with a harder twist to the vocal trio format, they overcame adversity, illness, and poverty to become one of the finest roots groups in Jamaica’s history. All three had been afflicted by polio and first became acquainted at Kingston’s Mona Rehabilitation Clinic. After more than 30 years in the business, Israel Vibration’s career shows no signs of slowing down, and their popularity seems assured, and they remain a vibrant live act and an always intriguing studio group. Israel Vibration is backed by the majestic
Roots Radics band, which traces back to Morris "Blacker" Wellington's band,
the Marvells, a group that featured future Roots Radics members
Errol "Flabba" Holt. Initially teaming together as members of Channel One session group
the Revolutionaries, which also featured the rhythm section of bassist
Sly Shakespeare and drummer
Robbie Dunbar. When
Shakespeare and
Dunbar left to launch their own label Taxi Records,
the Revolutionaries evolved into Roots Radics. They soon became spearheads of the dancehall style that dominated reggae music by the early ‘80s. The rest is reggae history. Looking forward for massive anthems like Same Song, Crises, Mr. Taxman, We A De Rasta and many more...Don’t miss.
