A piano player from a young age, and with a degree in music behind him, he was first introduced to drum & bass by the sounds of LTJ Bukem and John B back in 1997, and from then on he began producing in his bedroom in 2000. As the original member of cult drum and bass collective HoldTight, Nick had several releases on such labels as Industry, Renegade and React to name just a few, Nick has been extremely busy on the production front since 2003, when HoldTight's first two tunes, 'Dirty Habits' and '925' were championed by Andy C and licensed for the Nightlife compilation and J Majik's Fabric mix CD. HoldTight were also responsible for the much talked about official D&B remix of Candi Staton's dance classic 'You've Got The Love', remixing the UK hip hop anthem 'UK Bubblers' by Skitz, Rodney P and Skeme, and also remixing for Hospital Records covering Cyantific's 'Output'. Following HoldTight's album release, Lomax spread his wings and went solo, pursuing a more minimal sound. A few years on and many tunes down the line, he is now based in Bristol and is very much a part of the lively drum & bass community that resides there. Having worked closely with Kubiks & BCee from Rubik Records, with releases on Labels such as Liquid V and Innerground, Lomax has really come into his own as a solo artist in 2007, with releases on Critical, Bingo, Integral and Ram Records (with Xample), and released one of the tunes of the year, 'Artisan' on Bounce records. With support and interest from many of the big players in Drum & Bass, big things are lined up in 2008 with an album project, and numerous forthcoming releases.
