Coming off the back of his well received single releases ’21 Gun Salute’ and ‘Burning Slow’, the Kenyan born Reggae singer’s long awaited debut album ‘The Reasoning’ is finally here!
Released by Jamaican Reggae label 'DasVibes' , 'The Reasoning' is a hard core, keeping true to its origins, in your face, modern roots/ dancehall reggae album, showcasing an authentic style and vibe to a home audience as well as putting Australia on the Reggae map internationally.
Whilst always interested in music since growing up in Kenya surrounded by reggae music and culture, it was not until 2007 when Elephant Wise found himself in the midst of a high jacking incident whilst traveling on a local bus from Mombassa to Dar-es-Salaam that Elephant Wise decided to pursue his passion for music on a more serious level. The incident made him re-evaluate his vision for his life and gave him the push to start creating (this story is told on track 08 'Belly a di Beast'). Two years down the line and the album is finally here.
On ‘The Reasoning’ Elephant Wise has worked with many up and coming producers such as Reality Chant Productions who have several international releases under their belt, High Stakes Records from New Zealand and Not Easy At All Productions and Rebel Youth Family from Europe. He has also collaborated with emerging UK dancehall star Deadly Hunta on ‘Highest Grade’ and Amsie Brown from Africa and Sweden features on ‘Oman’. The album also contains exciting collaborations with local Australian talents LNX Dread and Elijah.
His 14 track modern roots, dancehall album ‘The Reasoning’ will be released on 18th July 2009 through Lava Camp Royale / DasVibes Jamaica
